Please remember that you need to research all the components
that you could use
So please make sure that you have the following information
in your research
• Information about what each components does
(this proves you understand the component and how you
could use it)
• Information about what each leg of the component
is for ( so if it’s a 555 a diagram showing what
each pin out is for and how it works)
• The cost of each component (this may be why
you have chosen to use this component over another)
• The size of each component (this may play a
part in the overall size of the circuit which may be
an issue for you)
• What voltage does your component need to power
it
• What voltage and or amps does your component
give at its output
• What is the maximum power that you can pass
through your component before it burns out
• Will any of your components suffer from over
heating (if using a MOSFET amplifier then you will need
to attach a heat sink)
• Are there different types of the same component
and which one is best for you and why
Please remember that you also need to have collected
images of Circuit Diagrams for circuits that do all
or part of what your circuit must do, you will have
then decided on which circuit is best and changed some
inputs and outputs or other components to make it perfect
for your use
You need to have a range of ways of producing the same
effect but by using different components connected together
in different ways….. then you pick the best one
for you and explain why you have picked this one….
Then you go and develop it by adding or removing parts
and or changing component values so it fits your needs
exactly..
Make sure that you have a flowchart explaining how
your circuit works
Make sure that you have a ‘Input, Process, Output’
diagram showing what components are within each heading
Make sure you have done a plan of making either for
you case or your PCB
Make sure that your specification has been followed
and referenced throughout your work (its no good specifying
what your product must be and do if you go and make
something totally different! This would show really
bad designing skills)
